Jake Storey picked up his fourth win of the season and launched a game-tying home run in the second, providing the spark that led Jesuit to an 11-2 win over Berkner on Thursday in Richardson. The Rangers pulled away from the Rams in the latter half of the game, scoring runs in the last four innings and five in the seventh to secure their fourth straight district sweep.
Storey finished the game 2-for-5 with the long ball in the second as seniors
Cash Riley,
Tommy Delaney and
David Long also recorded multi-hit games. Juniors
Weston Okamoto and
Callen Singhania helped put away the game late with back-to-back two-run hits in the seventh, as additional hits were recorded by juniors
Patrick Bonner and
Jonah Timmons.
On the mound, Storey struck out six batters and only allowed one run on three hits. Junior
Jack Barr threw two innings of relief, allowing one run on three hits and striking out two batters.
Jesuit will start its penultimate district series on Tuesday as the Rangers travel to Irving H.S. to take on the Tigers. First pitch on Tuesday is set for 7 p.m. The Rangers will return to Wright Field for Senior Night on Apr. 22 against Irving.
