Baseball Captures Fourth Straight Win Against Nimitz

Jesuit Dallas won its fourth straight game with a dominant, 11-1 win over Nimitz on Tuesday at Wright Field. The Rangers opened the contest with eight runs in the first three innings, and move to 4-3 in District 7-6A play ahead of Friday's series finale against the Vikings.

Senior Tommy Delaney and junior Callen Signhania each secured multi-hit games as junior Will Greenwood clinched the win for the Rangers with a two-run single in the sixth inning. Junior Luke Isett picked up his sixth win of the season with five quality innings on the mound, only allowing four hits while striking out four batters. Junior Dominic Migliore shut the door on the Vikings, retiring Nimitz in order in the sixth inning.

The scoring started in the first, when senior Myles Tucker laced a base hit through the first side that got under the glove of the Nimitz right fielder. Tucker and senior Cash Riley scored on the error to give Jesuit an early, 2-0 lead. The Rangers plated four runs in the second, the first coming on a single to left by senior David Long that scored Delaney. A bases loaded walk to freshman Jake Fults plated junior Nick Barber before a sacrifice fly by senior Myles Tucker drove in senior pinch runner Luke May to wrap the scoring in the inning.

Singhania scored on a groundout by Barber in the third before Delaney stole home for Jesuit's eighth run of the game. Senior Jake Storey scored on a Singhania RBI single in the fourth before Greenwood's game-ender in the sixth.

This week's series will conclude on Friday, when the Rangers travel to Irving for a 7 p.m. first pitch at Nimitz H.S. The Rangers will then return to Wright Field for a non-district clash against Waco Midway at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Apr. 9.
