Jesuit Dallas finished 17th at the 2023 Mike McCready Memorial Invitational, held on Saturday, December 2 at Colleyville Heritage H.S.
Senior
Oliver Collins led the charge for the Rangers, placing fourth in the 157-pound division. After receiving a first round bye, Collins secured back-to-back wins to earn a spot in the championship semifinal. Collins fought his way back in the consolation semifinal to earn a berth in the third-place match, but finished fourth overall after dropping a 6-2 decision, ending his run with a 3-2 record.
Junior Jake Daboub added a fifth-place finish with a 3-2 record of his own, scoring the final victory of his tournament run with a 6-2 decision over Frisco Lebanon Trail's Ronan Austin in the fifth-place match. Sophomores
Alex Shomin and
Luke Bloodworth each secured three wins in their respective weight classes while seniors
Spencer Broussard,
Pablo Lopez and sophomore Kingston Stephsns earned two wins apiece. Senior
Nicholas Westerheide won a match in the 144-pound division.
The Rangers will debut at Walsh Gym on Wednesday, December 6 for the first home meet of the 2023-24 season. Jesuit will battle St. Mark's and J.J. Pearce beginning at 5 p.m.
