Jesuit Dallas continued its early season surge with a 17th place finish at the annual Frisco Memorial War Games, held on December 8-9 at Memorial High School.
Sophomore
Kingston Stephens led the way for the Rangers, earning the bronze medal in the 106-pound division. Stephens began his run with a 12-5 decision over Madill's Dustin Fonte, earning his way into the championship semifinal with a second period pin fall of Azle's Mark O'Neil. After dropping an 8-2 decision to Northwest's Malaki Mendoza in the championship semifinal, Stephens captured the bronze in the third place match, securing an 8-0 major decision over Elijah Calas from Frisco Centennial.
Senior
Oliver Collins fought his way through the consolation bracket to earn a spot in the fifth-place match, ultimately finishing sixth overall. Collins rebounded from an opening round loss win three straight first period pin falls, scoring pins over Palo Duro's Steven Antillon, Jace Nelson from Frisco Lone Star and Jayden McCain from Madill. Luke Bloodworth earned two wins apiece as junior
Owen White and senior Timmy Keyes picked up one win each.
Jesuit will return to action on Friday, December 15 and Saturday, December 16 as the Blue and Gold are set to compete at the 55th Annual Lone Star Christmas Open, hosted by St. Mark's School of Dallas.
