Baseball Finishes Unblemished Week With Dominant Win Over Irving

Jesuit Dallas finished a resounding week with a 13-1 win over Irving on Saturday at Irving H.S. The Rangers have won four straight and are 3-1 in District 7-6A following a series sweep of Lake Highlands and Saturday's dominant victory over the Tigers.

The Rangers plated two runs in the first, one in the second and third innings before erupting for nine in the seventh to put the game out of reach. Junior Tristen Bird launched a key hit during the rally, a three-run double with two outs that scored freshman Taylor Haddock, sophomore Jake Fults and freshman Jake Jorgensen. Senior Jonah Timmons led the team offensively with three hits on the day, racking up two doubles while scoring twice and driving in two runs.

Senior Nick Barber added a team-high three runs scored, went 2-for-3 at the plate with a pair of doubles, and drove in two runs. Senior Dominic Migliore scattered a pair of hits for Jesuit and drove in two while senior Weston Okamoto, junior Cameron Davis, sophomore Lawrence and Haddock each drove in a run.

On the mound, senior Jack Barr earned the win with six innings of work, holding Irving to one run on five hits and walking two while striking out 10 batters. Junior Jaxx Rigelsky took over in the seventh, throwing a shutout inning with only one hit to help the Rangers clinch the win.

Jesuit will return to Wright Field on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. matchup against Irving before the attention shifts to a weekend series against Highland Park. On Friday, Jesuit will make the short trip south the Dallas North Tollway to Scotland Yard for a 7 p.m. first pitch before returning to Wright Field for a 1:30 p.m. first pitch on Saturday, April 1.
