Goals from junior
Jason Ogbolu, senior
James McCrea and senior
Hugh Rudnicki paced the Blue and Gold to a 3-0 win over MacArthur on Tuesday at Ranger Stadium. The win puts Jesuit in position for a potential playoff berth, as the Rangers close out the regular season on a four-game unbeaten streak.
Ogbolu's tally came in the 15th minute as the junior made a heads up play on a MacArthur clear attempt and slotted a quick shot into the back of the net. In the waning moments of the opening half, Ogbolu found McCrea for Jesuit's second goal of the game, sending Jesuit into the halftime break with a 2-0 advantage.
Senior
Erwin Ordaz launched a corner kick in the 49th minute that found a waiting Rudnicki in the box for a header that put the Blue and Gold up, 3-0. The Jesuit Dallas defense held the Cardinals at bay throughout the home stretch of the contest, as the senior goalkeeper tandem of
Cole Hines and
Christian Rodriguez had one save on the night.
Jesuit will now await the results of the remaining two play dates of district competition before learning its playoff fate. The UIL Region I-6A Bi-District round is set to start on Tuesday, March 21. The members of District 7-6A (Jesuit, Highland Park, Irving ISD, Richardson ISD) will match up against the members of District 8-6A (Arlington ISD, Grand Prairie ISD) in the Region I-6A Bi-District Round.
