Sophomore
Dillon Brandt fired a complete game three-hitter, and the Jesuit Dallas bats erupted for 18 runs on 15 hits en route to an 18-1 win over Berkner on Tuesday at Wright Field. Jesuit will continue its run through District 7-6A on Friday when the Blue and Gold heads to Richardson to take on Berkner.
Junior
Tristen Bird drove in a team-leading six runs, going 2-for-2 from the plate with a double. With his stellar outing, Bird became the first Ranger with six or more RBI since Kyle Muller accomplished the feat in 2016. In total, 12 Rangers recorded at least one hit in the ball game, as freshmen
Braxton Barber and
James Jorgensen each secured multi-hit games. Seniors
Dominic Migliore and
Jack Strong drove in two runs each, senior
Jonah Timmons forced three walks and scored three times, and junior
Cameron Davis drove in two runs with a triple in the fifth inning.
Brandt struck out eight batters to earn his fourth win of the year. The sophomore allowed one run in the first and a single in the second, but retired eight consecutive batters to finish out the win.
Jesuit and Berkner will square off at 7 p.m. on Friday at Berkner H.S. The Rangers will then travel to Nimitz for an 11 a.m. first pitch on Saturday, April 15.
