J.J. Pearce scored a buzzer-beater on Tuesday at Ranger Stadium, notching the lone tally to hand Jesuit a 1-0 loss.
The Rangers efforted six shots, five of which were on target. Seniors George Horvat and Matthew Sucato launched a pair of attempts at the Mustang goalkeeper along with an additional shot by junior Clyde Araiza but were unable to find the back of the net.
Senior Reid McMillan secured three saves on the night as senior Matteo Costanzo added a save of his own in the second half. The Rangers earned five corner kicks and seven free kicks while Pearce developed four corner kick opportunities.
The regular season finale will take place on Tuesday, March 19 as the Rangers battle Nimitz in Irving. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. Currently, the Rangers rank third in District 7-6A with 30 points, have clinched their berth in the upcoming University Interscholastic League (UIL) Region I-6A Tournament.
