Historic Unbeaten Start Continues Following Friday Sweep

Jesuit Dallas baseball improved to 9-0 on the year with a pair of victories on Friday, securing a 10-0, five-run victory over Fossil Ridge before shutting out Frisco Lebanon Trail, 7-0, in the nightcap.
 
Against Fossil Ridge, the Rangers erupted for 10 runs on nine hits, beginning the game with five runs in the bottom of the first. Junior Jake Fults and senior Ethan Jimenez tied for the team lead with two hits apiece, while senior Tristen Bird drove in a team-leading three runs.
 
Fults, Bird, sophomores Taylor Haddock and James Jorgensen each recorded a double, and senior Gavin Hickey launched a home run in the bottom of the fifth inning. On the mound, senior Joe Allen secured the complete-game shutout, holding Fossil Ridge to four hits and no runs while striking out five.
 
In the Rangers' matchup against Lebanon Trail, James Jorgensen, sophomore Charlie Wilson and senior Cameron Davis picked up two hits apiece, as Fults led the team with two runs driven in. Freshman Braxton Barber scored a team-leading two runs for the Rangers. Junior Dillon Brandt picked up the win on the mound, throwing a 12-strikeout, three-hit gem over six innings. Senior Gabriel Yescas capped the win with one inning of work, striking out one of his three batters faced.
 
The Rangers will conclude the Grand Slam Invitational on Saturday, as the unbeaten Rangers begin Saturday's action with an 11 a.m. showdown against Piedmont (Okla.) before wrapping the tournament with a 4 p.m. showdown against Frisco Reedy.
