Jesuit Golf Opens Season With Third Place Finish at Bart Granger Invitational

The Jesuit Dallas golf team opened its 2024-25 season with a third-place finish at the 2024 Bart Granger Invitational Tournament, held on Sept. 13-14 at Pecan Valley Golf Course in Fort Worth. The Rangers competed alongside some of the top programs in the state and secured a top-three team finish for the third consecutive season, following tournament championships in 2022 and 2023 with this year's stellar performance.
 
Junior Jack Clancy led the charge for the Rangers, shooting pair of rounds under par to finish tied for 15th place with a 212 total score. Clancy opened the weekend two-under par with a 70 before shooting a four-under 68 in the second round before scoring a 74 in the third and final round of competition. Senior Reece Roberts shot the team's lowest round of the tournament, carding a 67 to finish the third round five shots under par. Roberts secured a two-under 70 in the first round and a 75 in round two to also finish tied for 15th.
 
Seniors Connor Chisum and Nicholas Morris each finished the tournament tied for 18th with identical scores of 213, as Chisum followed a first round 75 with back-to-back rounds under par, shooting a 70 in round two and a 68 in round three to finish out the three-round tournament. Norris opened his tournament with a 71, following a 74 with a 68 to match Chisum's 213 total score. Spencer Carter (75-77-72) shot a 224 to round out the Rangers' lineup.
 
Jesuit combined for a final score of 848, teaming up for a 286 in round one, a 287 in round two and a 275 in round three, posting the second-best round of the tournament in the final round.
 
The Rangers' golf team returns to play on Monday, September 16 at the Plano ISD Invitational. Jesuit's varsity team returns to action at the Lovejoy Invitational, set for Wednesday, September 25 at The Courses at Watters Creek in Plano, Texas.
