Jesuit Hosts Loaded Field at Frank Halloran Ranger Classic, Finishes Fourth

The Ranger wrestling program hosted the 2025 Frank Halloran Ranger Classic Tournament on Friday and Saturday, welcoming over 500 wrestlers to the campus of Jesuit Dallas for a showcase that highlighted some of the best grapplers across Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. Jesuit would finish fourth at the event, propelled by four top-four finishes.
 
Junior Kingston Stephens earned another tournament championship, capturing gold in the 106 pound division. Stephens won four matches during his championship run, including three victories via technical fall and a pin fall in his tournament-opening win over Parker Alton from Prosper Walnut Grove. In the first-place match, Stephens secured a 23-6 technical fall win over R.L. Turner's Julian Ortiz Garcia.
 
Junior Trevor Leap secured three wins and placed second overall. Leap began his run with pin fall wins over Adam Awan (Flower Mound Marcus) and Marco Ortega (San Antonio Roosevelt) before earning his spot in the final with a hard-fought 17-11 victory over Alex Castellanos from Birdville. Junior Luke Bloodworth added four wins of his own, winning his final two matches to secure bronze in the 190-pound division. Bloodworth pinned Maximillian Millar from Cedar Park Vista Ridge in the opening bout, advancing to the semifinal with a 9-5 win over Plano's Killian Burnside. After falling in the semifinal, Bloodworth upended district foe Ricky Ibarra (J.J. Pearce) via a 20-5 technical fall before defeating Burnside again with a 14-8 decision that procured the bronze medal.
 
In the 285 pound division, junior Parker Sherman finished fourth with four victories. After falling in the second championship round, Sherman battled his way back into the third-place match with two pin falls and a major decision. Junior Dash Llana won his first consolation round bout with a pin of Walnut Grove's Jude Fontenot, as junior Alex Shomin won three matches via pin fall and scored 10 points for the Rangers. Junior Thomas Czuppon scored for Jesuit with two pin falls in the 132-pound bracket, senior Jake Daboub added seven points with two victories and junior Noah Nicosia added a victory for the Blue and Gold.
 
Jesuit finished the tournament with 110 points, finishing 6.5 points behind third place Flower Mound Marcus but 11 points ahead of fifth place Lake Highlands. San Antonio Johnson won the tournament championship with 182.5 points, followed by 158 points from second-place Coppell.
