• After playing three of its first four on the road, Jesuit returns to Ranger Stadium for back-to-back District 7-6A games, beginning this week against JJ Pearce.

• Senior QB Beck Berry is starting to find his groove as QB1 after moving from receiver in the offseason. He has thrown for 531 yards on 57-of-98 passing with two TD. His QB rating has improved each game as well, going from 87.78 in week one at Hebron to 233.67 at Irving last week. He also leads the team with 108 rushing yards and a TD.

• Senior WR Cade Kirby has emerged as the top receiver for the Rangers. He leads the team with 222 yards on 18 receptions and three TD.

• Sophomore Corson Lindley is one of four sophomores among the JCP 2-deep. He has caught 10 passes for 57 yards as a wideout but is making an equally big impact on special teams. He is averaging 24 yards per kickoff return   and has positioned the offense with 60-yards or less to go six times. He has five returns of 20-plus yards with at least one in every game. He nearly broke the opening kickoff at Irving last week before being pushed out of bounds at the Irving 21.

• Senior Lucas Meyer has seen time in the backfield and at receiver. He has rushed 18 times for 54 yards and caught 10 balls for 93 yards. He is third on the team with 147 all-purpose yards (36.8 per game).

• The Jesuit defense has done a solid job of disrupting the quarterbacks, collecting five sacks and 14 QB hurries. Additionally, they have recorded 16 tackles for loss.

• Senior LB Cole Wombacher continues to lead the Rangers in tackles with 31. He has 15 solos, five tackles for loss, one pass break-up and a QB hurry.

• Senior PK Cooper McGough has gone 8-for-8 on PATs and 2-for-3 on field goals this season. He has put four of 15 kickoffs into the end zone for touchbacks, including two last week at Irving. Opponents have an average starting field position of their own 24 yard line.

ABOUT JJ PEARCE

• JJ Pearce is 1-2 with a win over Wylie and a pair of blowout losses to Flower Mound Marcus and Lake Highlands the last two weeks. The Mustangs led Wylie 24-7 in the 4th qtr and had to overcome an Evan Roseberry interception and a missed 39-yard field goal to secure the win in the opener.

• QB Evan Roseberry has thrown for 303 yards but also has five interceptions (2 against Wylie and Marcus, and 1 against LH). Backup Colton Waddle saw more time last week against Lake Highlands, throwing for 97 yards on 5-of-10, with a 69-yard TD pass to Wyatt Walters in the final minute of the fourth quarter. Roseberry had a 65-yard rushing TD versus LH as well.

• Steve Gonzalez is 6-for-7 on PATs & 2-for-4 on FGs - misses of 40 & 42 yds.

• Pearce has five turnovers this season with a fumble and four interceptions. Their defense recovered three fumbles against Wylie and grabbed an INT in each of the last two games.

• Jarrett Lambert is 20-15 in his fourth season as the Pearce head coach, including a 9-3 mark a year ago when they went 6-1 in the district and 1-1 in the postseason. He previously was the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator for the Mustangs from 2016-21, a tenure that saw Lambert coach JJP to playoff berths four times over six seasons.
