Jesuit Dallas Swimming & Diving Competes at UIL 6A State Championship

A wildly successful swimming and diving season concluded at the University Interscholastic League (UIL) 6A State Championships on Friday and Saturday at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin, Texas. The Rangers would finish the season by finishing 33rd at the annual state championships showcase.
 
Sophomore Jonah Ruhl was a two-time finals qualifier, making it to the B-Final in the 200 I.M. and the 100 free. In the 200 IM, Ruhl finished 11th in prelims, hitting the wall in 1:51.52 before clocking a 1:52.15 to place 13th in finals. Ruhl added a 16th place finish in the 100 free prelims with a 46.48 before matching his place in the finals with a 46.63.
 
In the 200 free relay, the Ranger relay team of Ruhl, junior Luke Lary, junior Jackson Addison-Jordan and junior Sam Kennington finished 16th in prelims with a time of 1:26.16. In finals, the Rangers exploded up the leaderboard, posting a 1:25.00 to finish the year 11th in the state. Jesuit's 400 free relay team would finish 17th overall as Lary, Kennington, junior Sebastian Suwanda and Ruhl posted a 3:09.13 in prelims to finish 17th. Lary additionally competed as an individual finishing 18th in the 100 fly prelims.
 
The Rangers' performance at state capped another excellent season that included an unbeaten record in dual meets, the program's 11th district championship, and culminated with the team's first regional championship since the 2012 season.
