Jesuit Dallas dominated Lake Highlands on Friday, securing a 3-0 win over the Wildcats and sweeping the season series at Ranger Stadium.
Â
The Rangers were anchored by three separate goal scorers, as senior
Andres Benitez found the back of the net in the 19th minute off of assists by senior
Octavio Monjaras and junior
Cooper McGough. Senior
Clyde Araiza sent home a feed from sophomore
Zane Roland to give Jesuit a 2-0 lead in the 31st minute before Roland would cap the team's scoring with a phenomenal 1-on-1 move against the Wildcat goalie, sending Jesuit's third goal into an empty net.
Â
Jesuit's defense held Lake Highlands in check throughout the contest as the Wildcats were held to six shots and five corners but did not register a shot on goal during the bout. Seniors
Marcelo Elizondo and
Jake Chostner split the shutout.
Â
The Rangers will encounter a tight turnaround as Jesuit will face J.J. Pearce on Saturday at Ranger Stadium. Originally scheduled for Tuesday, February 18, the showdown between the Rangers and Mustangs is now set for 1:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
