Baseball Concludes 2025 Campaign in UIL Area Round

5/11/2025 10:47:00 AM

Jesuit Dallas concluded the 2025 baseball season on Saturday, falling to Flower Mound Marcus, 14-11, in a winner-take-all game three at Coppell H.S. The Rangers battled their way back from an eight-run deficit, but were unable to turn the tables on the Marauders and see their season end in the area round of the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Region I-6A Division II tournament.

Junior Braxton Barber recorded a massive, momentum-swinging grand slam in the bottom of the fifth, turning a 13-6 deficit into a three-run game and putting the pressure back on the Marauders. Barber would finish the contest 3-for-3 with two walks, three runs scored and four RBI. Senior Jake Fults went 1-for-2 with two RBI as junior Taylor Haddock drove in two runs for the Rangers. Senior E'mar Fleming II and junior Brooks Kowal added additional RBI for the Rangers.

The Rangers plated three runs in the bottom of the first as the team rallied around a groundout RBI by Fleming and an RBI single by Haddock. Junior Alex Barr scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the second to score Jesuit's fourth run of the game before Fults ripped a two-run single to center in the fourth, plating Barber and junior Charlie Wilson and closing the gap to two runs.

Flower Mound Marcus scored five runs in the top of the fifth, but Barber's blast to right field got the Rangers back in contention. The Marauders scored an insurance run in the top of the sixth before Jesuit scored its final run on the season after a sacrifice fly from Kowal scored Fults.

Jesuit ends the year with a 25-9-1 record and captured the program's 10th straight UIL Bi-District Championship with a two-game sweep of Arlington Bowie. The Rangers closed out the season as District 7-6A Co-Champions after securing a 12-2 record in league play.
