Jesuit Dallas Earns First State Championship Berth, Finishes 2025 as TBHSV State Runner-Up

Jesuit Dallas finished a historic 2025 campaign by securing the program's first Texas Boys' High School Volleyball (TBHSV) state championship berth with a 3-1 win over Vista Ridge (19-25, 25-22, 25-14, 25-21) on Friday at the Rockwall Freshman Center. The Rangers would finish the season as the state runner-up following a three-set loss (11-25, 23-25, 15-25) to St. Mark's on Saturday.
 
The Rangers came storming back from a deficit once again in the state semifinal, turning the tide following a rough first set that saw the Rangers hit .026 as a team to close out the contest with 47 total kills to 20 errors for a .208 total hitting percentage. Three Rangers posted double-digit kills, led by Miles McGovern, who converted 16-of-37 attacks for kills while adding 12 digs, three service aces and five assisted blocks. Junior Eli Garza racked up 11 kills, seven digs and a team-high six aces while junior Grant Bomersbach hit .600 on the night with 10 kills on 15 attacks, three aces and 10 digs.
 
Jesuit's postseason magic concluded against a hard-hitting St. Mark's team that finished the three-setter with a .378 hitting percentage. McGovern led the way for the Rangers with 12 kills, also recording team-highs with three aces and two blocks while Garza picked up 11 kills, followed by four kills from William Trout. Sophomore Daniel Shao secured a team-high 11 digs, followed by seven digs from junior Cash Ramirez, who additionally led the team with 26 assists.
 
The Rangers' historic 2025 season concludes with a 16-6-2 record and the team's first state championship game appearance. Jesuit swept Nolan Catholic in the first game of its playoff run before an incredible, come-from-behind win over the Red River Rattlers in the regional final. The Rangers made their second consecutive trip to the state tournament this season following a third-place finish in 2024.
