One run in the first and four runs in the fifth was enough firepower for Flower Mound Marcus to force a decisive third game in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Region I-6A Division II Area Round, as the Marauders defeated the Rangers, 5-0, on Friday night at Wright Field. The third game in the series is set to take place on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Coppell ISD Baseball/Softball Complex.
 
Jesuit was held to three hits by Flower Mound Marcus pitcher Luke Davis, who hurled a complete game three-hitter with nine strikeouts. Jesuit hits were recorded by juniors Carter Noland, Taylor Haddock and Charlie Wilson. Senior Brayden Montes threw six innings in his second playoff start of the postseason, striking out six batters. Senior Wallace Archie threw the top of the seventh for the Rangers, not allowing a hit and keeping the Rangers within striking distance.
 
Saturday's showdown will take place at 4 p.m. at the Coppell ISD Baseball and Softball Complex.
