DALLAS - The Jesuit soccer team scored a pair of second-half goals to defeat Prosper, 2-0, in the championship game of the 2026 Jesuit-Meintser Invitational at Ranger Stadium on Saturday.
Jesuit (2-0-1) collected its 19th Meintser title and fourth-consecutive on a cool evening in Dallas that featured the relatives of the late Henk Meintser present the awards at the post-game ceremony. Meintser started the Ranger soccer program and was also a founding member of the North Texas Soccer Association.
Cooper McGough scored his third goal of the season on a penalty kick in the 42nd minute. The opportunity came on a play in the box where an Eagle defender put his hand up to stop the ball. The Rangers made it a 2-goal lead nine minutes later on a corner kick that
Mason Farley converted in traffic. The ball was served into the box by
Luca Shipley where
Zane Roland headed towards Farley.
From there, the Rangers held the strong Eagle attack to a total of six shots after they had scored six goals in their two previous tourney games. Prosper fell to 4-2 on the season.
Jesuit will return to play on Tuesday night when it plays host to Flower Mound at 7:30 p.m.
