OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Jesuit opened the 2026 Fall season at the Head of the Oklahoma regatta. This year, Jesuit Crew raced in pink shirts to honor those who have fought or are currently fighting breast cancer.
Under the new leadership of Coach Joe Ursini, Jesuit Crew went to Oklahoma City looking for where they could target to increase speed and where each boat currently stands within the region. Jesuit Crew is in the pursuit of excellence. That was reflected among all components of the team, encompassing athletes, parents, and coaches. Jesuit Crew is growing in speed and mentality. In this initial phase of the year, there is already a shift in the culture. The athletes want to be better for each other and to continue to push the threshold. They will continue the charge and get faster each day.
Coach Ursini said, "After Oklahoma, we have our starting point. We had some success on the younger side and saw where we stack up on the varsity level. In our team debrief after the regatta, I could see the fire in their eyes. Multiple athletes came up to me asking for ways to continue to get better, asking for additional workouts, and wanting to get extra time in the tank. Personally, I'm fired up about where the team culture is heading and excited to help them achieve their goals."
