DALLAS - The Jesuit Dallas volleyball team defeated Wylie East, 3-0, at Walsh Gym on Monday. The Rangers won with set scores of 25-23, 25-15, 25-22.
Eli Garza led the Rangers with 11 kills and seven digs, while
William Trout hit .667 on 12 swings and eight kills. Trout also had two block solos and three block assists.
Parker Schutze finished with a match-high four service aces
Both teams started slowly in the first and played steady sideout ball for much of the set. Jesuit trailed 21-20 before outscoring Wylie East 5-2 down the stretch. The Rangers left little doubt in the second set, hitting .542 with just one error, outscoring the Raiders 13-2 after being tied at 12. In the third set, Jesuit never led until it closed the frame on a 5-0 lead for the 25-22 win.
Jesuit (2-0) will return to action this Wednesday against Greenhill at home. First serve is at 6 p.m.
