DALLAS -
Alex Barr hit a pair of home runs as Jesuit Dallas split its first two games in the 2026 Five Tool High School Festival at Wright Field on Thursday.
Jesuit is now 3-5 on the season after defeating El Paso Americas 10-2 and falling to Buda Johnson 5-3.
Barr had two hits in each contest as he extended his hitting streak to eight games.
In the first contest against the Trail Blazers, the Rangers scored a run in the each of the first two innings, and then two each in innings three through six.
James Jorgensen went 3-for-3 with a run and an RBI, while
Taylor Haddock,
Brooks Kowal,
Charlie Wilson and Barr all had two hits apiece.
Sebastian Lasa struck out eight and allowed just three hits over five innings to earn the win.
In the second game, Johnson scored four unearned runs in the third to grab a 4-0 lead. They added a fifth in the top of the fifth inning.
Jesuit got on the board in the home half on a Jorgensen RBI single up the middle. But they left the bases loaded and were unable to score again until the seventh.
That's when Barr crushed a 2-run, 2-out offering over the wall in left center to cut into the margin. The Rangers put the next two batters on with a pair of 4-pitch walks before ending the game on a strikeout with the potential winning run at the plate.
Jesuit will play two more on Friday. They will face Grapevine at 2:30 p.m. and Perry (Ariz.) at 5:00 p.m.
