FLOWER MOUND, Texas - The Jesuit Dallas basketball team suffered a 66-42 loss to No. 3 Little Elm in the Area Round of the UIL 6A Division 2 Playoffs at Flower Mound High School on Friday.
Jesuit ended its season at 18-14 and won its tenth Bi-District title on Tuesday.
The Rangers stayed close for the first 12 minutes before the Lobos pressure and transition game started to take over. After a
Pierce Popelka layup cut the margin to 19-14, LE closed the half on an 8-3 run for a 29-17 lead.Â
In the third quarter, the margin stayed around 10 before Kensington Candler scored the final seven points to give the Lobos a 44-28 lead.
Little Elm scored 26 points off 21 Jesuit turnovers and out-rebounded the Rangers 35-19
Popelka had 12 points and eight rebounds to lead Jesuit;
Nick Pregler added 13 off the bench with three 3-pointers
Candler led LE with 23 points and Josh Weems had 20. Little Elm improves to 33-2 and will face Mansfield in the Region 1-6A semifinals.
