The Rangers had nine extra-base hits on Saturday

DALLAS - The Jesuit Dallas baseball team hit three home runs and had nine total extra-base hits in a pair of games at Wright Field on Saturday. The Rangers finished play in the Five Tool High School Festival with an 8-8 come-from-behind tie against Magnolia Heights out of Mississippi and a 16-0 win over McKinney Boyd.

Senior catcher Alex Barr finished the 6-game stretch hitting .533 with three home runs, seven RBI for a 1.133 slugging pct. He also was walked six times and scored three runs.

Nine other Rangers hit over .400 in the tournament as Jesuit went 4-1-1.

In Saturday's first game, Magnolia Heights jumped out to an 8-1 lead after four-and-a-half innings. The Chiefs got home runs in the first and fourth innings. The Rangers started their comeback with two in the fifth and one in the sixth to pull within 8-4. In the seventh, Ronan Derischweiler delivered a 3-run double before Jacob Martinez drove in a run on a bases-loaded ground out to tie it at 8-8. Following another ground out, the coaches decided to stop the game with  the time limit having passed and Magnolia needing to prepare for a flight back to Memphis.
