Rangers Clinch UIL District 9-6A:A stingy defense and a fourth-quarter point surge lifted the Rangers to a 40-14 win over Irving MacArthur on Oct. 29, clinching the 2015 UIL District 9-6A championship for the Rangers, the first district title in football since 2004. Junior quarterback Jacob Palisch finished the evening with five total touchdowns and 279 all purpose yards. Senior Adam Holtz had another impressive game, rushing for 139 yards on 19 carries, while fourth year Max Loughborough recorded six receptions for a team-high 106 yards, adding a rushing and receiving touchdown alongside Rusty Landon and Connor Lanpher.  Seniors John Michael Priddy, Esteban Garcia and junior John Guzman each snagged an interception while seniors Peyton Long and Ryan Brooks finished with eight and six stops, respectively.
All Good Things Come to an End: With 7:30 remaining in the second quarter of Thursday's clash between MacArthur and Jesuit, the Cardinals did something that Arlington Bowie, Sunset, Irving, Nimitz or W.T. White could not; score on the Rangers. Kane Hardin found Ryen Sanchez on a 57-yard pass to haut a Ranger shutout streak that eclipsed 14 quarters and totaled 172 minutes and 45 seconds of game time. Despite losing the shutout streak, Jesuit Dallas will enter the R.L. Turner contest without allowing a rushing touchdown and a touchdown inside the red zone since the Skyline contest.
Palisch from the Parking Lot: Junior quarterback Jacob Palisch continued his hot streak in Thursday's 40-14 win over MacArthur, combining for five touchdowns, three through the air and two on the ground, including a pair of passing touchdowns that were 25 yards or longer. Over the last two games, Palisch has accounted for 425 yards and eight touchdowns, including five rushing touchdowns to push the Rangers to the district crown. In addition, Palisch has thrown eight touchdown passes of 25 yards or longer including a season-high 63-yard bomb to senior Rusty Landon in Jesuit Dallas' 38-27 win over Strake Jesuit on Sept. 11.
Hickman History: With a win on Friday, the Rangers will match the record for most wins under the tutelage of head coach Brandon Hickman, tying the nine wins earned during the 2012 and 2013 seasons. In addition, Coach Hickman is the first Jesuit Dallas coach to lead a team to an outright University Interscholastic League (UIL) division title, and the first head coach in the 21st century to coach the Rangers to three consecutive shutouts and five shutouts in a single season.
Be Sure to Arrive Early: Originally scheduled for the contest against W.T. White, the Jesuit Dallas celebration of the 26-member senior Class of 2016 will take place prior to kickoff on Friday. In addition, Jesuit Dallas will honor the Class of 1965 celebrating their 50-year reunion, veteran alumni and Dallas area veterans. The pre-game ceremony will culminate with the delivery of Friday's game ball, which will happen via helicopter, flown by 1994 Jesuit Dallas graduate Clay Lacy. Scouting R.L. Turner: The Lions arrive at Postell Stadium with a 4-5 overall record along with a 1-5 mark in district competition. Most recently, the Lions fell to Skyline, 56-7, last week, with Daleon Ward rushing for 156 yards, averaging 13 yards per attempt. Turner scored its lone district win of the season, 28-0, over Sunset.
District 9-6A Playoff Matchups Set: Four members of District 9-6A have punched their tickets to the UIL 6A Football Championship Tournament, set to start next week. With the district championship in hand, the Rangers will host Mesquite Horn of UIL 10-6A, who enter this weekend's district clash with Lake Highlands as owners of a 5-4 record after losses to Highland Park, North Mesquite, Duncanville and McKinney Boyd. Skyline will meet Lake Highlands at Forester Field on Nov. 13, with MacArthur traveling to Mesquite Memorial Stadium to battle North Mesquite. Nimitz is the final member of the division to make the postseason, set to battle Highland Park in the first round of the Division II playoffs.
Up Next: The Rangers and Jaguars will clash at Postell Stadium on Friday, Nov. 13. Mesquite Horn is led by the combination of quarterback Chris Robinson, who has thrown for 1,620 yards and 22 touchdowns compared to three interceptions this season, and the tandem of runningbacks Patrick Carter-Wells and Elton Taylor, who combined for 1,206 yards and 13 touchdowns heading into the final game of the regular season.
