Jesuit Baseball, ranked
No. 4 in the state by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association and ranked
No. 18 in the country by MaxPreps, has opened the 2015 district campaign on a five game win streak. The Rangers have tackled Sunset twice, Skyline twice, and Irving once to continue building on their current 14 game unbeaten streak.
Â
Jesuit opened district play with a pair of wins over Sunset, both at the new Wright Field. Senior
Harrison Folk started the district opener on the mound, and earned a W by allowing just two hits and one earned run in five innings of work.
Darius Hill hit a grand slam in the bottom of the fifth inning to initiate the run rule, and to bring his RBI total to five on the day. It was Hill's second home run of the season; the Rangers won the March 17 opener 12-1. The squad then turned around and shutout the Bison on March 23 in a rain-delayed makeup game. Senior
Grant Reuben registered three RBIs on a pair of hits, both doubles, as Jesuit jumped out to an early lead. Â Junior
Kyle Muller got the win on the mound after striking out six in three hitless innings. He got relief from
Lorenzo Riddle and
Jacob Palisch, who together kept the shutout alive in Jesuit's 11-0 win.
