Senior LIam Finn scored his first goal of the season to help the Rangers improve their season-opening winning streak to four games with a 1-0 triumph over Nimitz on Friday in the opening round of the Duncanville Tournament.
Finn found the back of the net in the 29th minute off of an assist by junior
Will Kennard, and the Jesuit Dallas defense held the Vikings scoreless to log the team's fourth shutout of the season. Junior
Luke Ostrander picked up his fourth shutout of the year, but the remainder of the Ranger lineup stepped up, limiting the Nimitz offense throughout the contest.
Friday's goal marks the Rangers' fifth total tally of the season, all of which have been scored by different members of the Blue and Gold. Senior defenseman
Johnny Balok and fellow fourth year
Patrick Howell scored the squad's first two goals of the season against Bishop Lynch on Jan. 7, and a goal by junior
Ethan Moore on Jan. 8 was the difference maker in the team's 1-0 win over Sachse. Senior
Pryor Miller netted his first goal of the year to help push the Rangers to the 2016 Jesuit-Meintser Soccer Invitational Championship, the team's first since 2013, on Jan. 9 against Flower Mound Marcus.
