The North Zone Texas Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (TISCA) meet closed a busy November for the Jesuit Dallas swimming squad, which included a 101-77 setback to Highland Park on November 1, a sixth place finish at the 2016 Dallas Cup on November 11 before finishing 28th at TISCA on November 19.

At TISCA, three Jesuit relays and one individual swimmer earned finals berths. Seniors

Ivan Lopez teamed up for all three relays, including a 400 free relay final that clocked a 3:23.19, 11.76 seconds faster than the Rangers' seed time. Jesuit added a 12th place finish in the 200 free relay (1:30.50), closing the 200 medley relay in 1:41.18 to finish 13th. Lopez qualified individually for the 100 fly, placing 22nd in prelims with a 54.40 before swimming a 54.47 in finals to place 23rd.

Junior
Joshua Betanzos won the 100 breast at the Dallas Cup in 1:12.62 to secure a win for the Blue and Gold. Senior
Jorge Carpizo swam a 29.24 in the 50 fly to finish fourth, while
Lucas Raney tacked on a 25.03 in the 50 free to finish tied for seventh and junior
William Fynes tacked on a 35.89 in the 50 breast, securing fifth. The 200 medley relay team of Raney, Betanzos, Carpizo and Betanzos hit the wall in third with a 1:58.10, while the same unit posted a fifth-place, 1:43.84 in the 200 free relay.

Against Highland Park, Ayres logged two individual wins, including a 22.52 in the 50 free followed by a 49.34 in the 100 free. The senior then joined Lopez, Nguyen and Daniels in the 200 free relay, which hit the wall in 1:35.42 for the victory, besting the Scots by 1.58 seconds. The same relay team added a second place, 1:42.33 in the 200 medley relay, followed by a 1:51.72 by the team of senior

Ryan Brown. Bedard, Day, Hoover and Daniels added a 3:41.93, finishing second in the 400 free relay.

Nguyen finished second in two races, first with a 55.81 in the 100 fly followed with a 1:08.05 in the 100 breast. Lopez hit the wall in 5:17.95 to score a second place finish in the 500 free, while Hoover added a third-place, 2:16.37 in the 200 I.M. and Daniels finished with a 24.37 in the 50 free. Day, Brown and Lopez logged an impressive 2-3-4 finish in the 100 back, with Day hitting the wall in 1:01.91 to lead the pack.

Jesuit will next battle Flower Mound and Plano west on Tuesday, December 6 in Lewisville, Texas to close the year, opening 2017 at the Kyle Tilley Invitational on January 7.
