An impressive, 11-7 victory over University Interscholastic League (UIL) District 9-6A foe Coppell on Thursday, November 17 ended the Rangers' fall slate, sending the Blue and Gold into the break with a 13-1 record.
Â
Despite trailing in several key doubles matches after one set, the Rangers came storming back to capture a 5-1 lead heading into singles play. Senior
Hayden Kissee and junior
John Lindberg battled to score a 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 win, finishing the fall unbeaten. In addition, sophomore
Kota Ueshima paired with senior
Joey Cistulli for a doubles victory, while juniors
Nico Cornejo and
Marcelo Pier were responsible for another win in Jesuit doubles play.
Â
"The doubles started off really slow and it was obvious we were missing a lot of easy shots just because most of the guys had been taking the time off," commented Jesuit head coach
Paul McDaniel. "It was great as we got further into the match, the focus and intensity increased and coming out of the doubles up really fired the boys up."

Cistulli and senior
Ethan Kissee tacked on impressive singles victories to complete the eyebrow-raising Jesuit performance, which has seen the Rangers rattle off three consecutive wins to end the fall season after opening the season with six consecutive victories.
Â
Jesuit will reopen the season on Tuesday, January 24 against Trinity Christian Academy. The Rangers will embark upon their quest for a fifth consecutive district championship in 2017.
