Sophomore Christian Lerma's fifth goal of the year propelled the University Interscholastic League (UIL) District 9-6A Champion and state-ranked No. 6 Jesuit Dallas Rangers to a 1-1, regular-season ending tie against R.L. Turner on Tuesday evening at Standridge Stadium.
In the first half, junior goalkeeper
Luke Ostrander made four saves, fending off a pair of R.L. Turner corner kick opportunities, while the Rangers (14-2-5, 10-0-4) procured a pair of chances in the opening stanza. In the 41st minute, Lerma finally broke through for the Blue and Gold, finding the back of the net to break the scoreless tie. The Lions returned the favor two minutes later, and neither team could score the go-ahead tally prior to the end of regulation.
The Rangers, No. 6 in the state of Texas according to the most recent
