Soccer Clinches UIL 9-6A District Championship

A 0-0 tie to W.T. White on Friday night awarded the Ranger soccer squad the University Interscholastic League (UIL) District 9-6A championship, the squad's second consecutive district crown, while keeping Jesuit Dallas unbeaten in district play.  The Rangers then tied MacArthur, 0-0, on Mar. 5.

With the victory, Jesuit Dallas (14-2-3, 10-0-2) moves its point total in the district listing to 31 points, enough to clinch the title over second place Irving, who entered the week three games behind the Rangers.  Since beginning district play, Jesuit has out-scored opponents, 20-4, and has yet to allow more than a single tally to a district opponent this season.  The Rangers have shut out seven district foes and entered the final two weeks of the regular season ranked No. 10 in the most recent TopDrawerSoccer Texas State Rankings.

Soccer's district title is the second for the Jesuit Dallas athletic program in 2016, and fourth of the 2015-16 academic year.  In the fall, the Jesuit Dallas football and cross country teams won district gold before the Ranger swimming and diving team won the district championship in late January.

The Rangers will next battle MacArthur on Saturday, Mar. 5 at 12 p.m.
