"I can't really fault our guys. We played well it's just they (Highland Park) played the big points better," commented Jesuit Dallas head coach
Paul McDaniel. "They are a deep and a very 'battle tested" group of guys. They have been playing tough matches against quality opponents since early August."
Â
Freshman
Max Platt fell short in a back-and-fourth No. 4 singles bout, 7-6 (4), 7-5. Senior
Nico Elizondo and freshman
Matthew Cole, fell shy of an upset big with a 7-6, 7-6 decision while senior
Marcelo Pier and Clement took the first set of fourth-flight doubles but fell short in the tiebreaker, 4-6, 6-1, 10-8.
Â
"This was our first really tough match. Highland Park won the majority of 3-3 points, all the tie-breakers and all the close points," concluded McDaniel. "That's a pretty consistent formula for victory."
