After dropping their first match of the year to Highland Park on Oct. 5, the Ranger tennis team rebounded with a dominant, 6-0 win over John Paul II on Thursday in Plano Texas. With the victory, Jesuit Dallas improves its fall record to 9-1 heading into a season-closing bout with Coppell.

John Lindberg secured a 6-0, 6-3 win at top-flight doubles over the Cardinals' James Garcia. Lindberg's win is the first for a Ranger netter at No. 1 singles in three years against John Paul II. Sophomore
Reid Staples tacked on a 6-1, 6-4 triumph over Roberto Garcia to cap a two-game sweep at singles.

"After such an emotional and physically exhausting contest with HP last week, it was important for our guys to feel good about the level of talent on this team," commented Jesuit Dallas head coach
Paul McDaniel. "The effort and focus were right on today. We just refused to let any of their players feel like they had a chance to win."

Jesuit will close the fall on Friday, Nov. 10 against Coppell. First serve is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at The Hockaday School.
