A walk-off home run by senior Mac Lopez handed Jesuit Dallas a 5-4, season-opening win over Lake Dallas on Friday afternoon at Wright Field. Jesuit ended the game in the seventh after Lake Dallas tied the contest in the top of the frame.

Jaden Woodson excelled for the Blue and Gold, going 2-for-3 with two runs batted in. Lopez and senior
Bijan Kamalipour drove in one run each while sophomore Jalon Mack went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Senior
Peter Delkus earned the start on the mound, hurling 5.1 innings, giving up two runs while striking out seven batters. Senior
Chris Irby scored the victory after throwing two thirds of the third inning.

How it Happened

- The Rangers jumped onto the scoreboard in the first inning, scoring three runs on five hits. After back-to-back singles by Mack and Lopez kicked off the contest, Woodson smacked a double to deep left center to give Jesuit the early, two-run lead. Junior Garrett Reuben would single after Woodson's big hit and score after a double to right center by Kamalipour.

- An error by Lake Dallas center fielder Ryan Depperschmidt provided Jesuit Dallas with another run in the second inning. Senior Luke Pryzbylski singled to lead off the inning, was pushed to second after a sacrifice bunt from Mack and scored when Woodson launched a ball to center that was dropped by the outfielder, allowing the senior to cross the plate.

- Lake Dallas got on the scoreboard in the third with a home run before cutting the lead down to two with a a run in the top of the fourth. The Falcons tied the game with a two-run double by Kyle York in the top of the seventh inning.

- With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Lopez crushed a ball to left center to end the game with a thunderous home run that bounced off of the Jesuit scoreboard.
