Volleyball Falls in TBVVL Semifinals After Inspired Comeback

The Jesuit Dallas volleyball team saw its season end in the semifinal round of the Texas Boys' Varsity Volleyball League (TBVVL) Tournament on Saturday with a 2-1 loss to Rockwall. The Rangers posted an inspired comeback to the Yellow Jackets but were unable to complete the comeback after upending Wylie, 2-0 in the quarterfinal round.

Against Wylie, Patrick Rodenbaugh led the way with six kills while Nick Wilson posted a team-leading 10 assists. Sam Levis notched four aces while Michael Turner scored five digs and five kills. Jesuit scored a 25-12 win in set one before clinching the victory with a 25-13 victory in the second set.

Moving into the semifinals, Jesuit dropped the first set to Rockwall, 25-23 before forcing a decisive third set with a 27-25 comeback win in the second. However, Rockwall was able to secure momentum early to end the Rangers' season in the third and decisive set, 15-11.

The semifinal loss ends a wildly successful year for the Blue and Gold as Jesuit concluded the season with an 11-3 record. The Rangers entered the tournament with the top-overall seed.
