Jesuit Dallas tennis closed a three-match road trip with a 1-2 record, securing a stellar, 16-1 win over Prosper while dropping matches to Allen and Plano. The Rangers will head into the final four matches of the fall season with a 2-3 record after the road trip and will return to Hockaday to compete against McKinney on Tuesday, September 25.

Sophomore
Matthew Cole and freshman
Reid Aaron maintained their unbeaten start to the season in doubles play as senior
Cole Clement and sophomore Alex Gomez raced to a 6-4, 6-0 win at doubles.
Â
"Cole has played with three different partners over the last two weeks," commented Jesuit Dallas head coach
Paul McDaniel. "I like his energy and focus. As a senior he is expected to keep his younger partners calm and on point. He has done a great job."
Â
The victory over Prosper provided a solid rebound for the Blue and Gold after a 19-1 setback to Allen. Jesuit sophomore
Connor Bryant earned the lone win for the Rangers.
Â
Against Plano, injuries and sickness throughout the roster depleted the Jesuit lineup, but the Rangers battled in a 9-4 loss to the Wildcats. Cole and Aaron stunned Plano's top-flight doubles team, racing back from a loss in the first set for a 3-6, 6-2, 10-8 tiebreaker victory. The team of sophomore
Eli Gan-Dy and junior
Trey Ashmore earned an additional upset win with a 6-4, 5-7, 11-9 doubles victory over Shteyn and Clemens at second-flight doubles.
Â
"I'm really proud of those four players," said McDaniel in reference to Aaron, Ashmore, Cole and Gan-Dy. "Both of those doubles teams beat solid well-coached opponents."Â
Â
Despite the 2-2 tie after doubles competition, Plano won seven of the nine singles matches to secure the win. Bryant won his singles match, 6-3, 6-3 at seventh-flight singles as sophomore
Carl Wilson earned a 6-4, 7-6 win at No. 8 singles.

Jesuit will close the fall slate with two home matches over the next month. Next Tuesday's match against McKinney will precede a two-match road trip against Plano East (Sept. 28) and Highland Park (Oct. 6). Jesuit will close the fall slate at Hockaday against Liberty Christian on October 11.
