WATCH LIVEFOLLOW LIVEDIRECTIONS TO ROCKWALL H.S.

Rangers Defeat Sachse in Three-Game Classic: Jesuit Dallas fought its way back from a one-game deficit in the first round of the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Region 2-6A Tournament to defeat Sachse, two games to one, last weekend in the bi-district round. Jesuit dropped game one, 3-1, on Thursday before securing a 6-2, 11-inning win on Friday and a series-clinching, 10-0 victory on Saturday. Junior Ryan Messick took the hard-luck loss on the mound Thursday despite striking out six over six innings of work. Sophomore Connor Chavez launched a sixth-inning home run for Jesuit's lone run of the game.

On Friday, Jesuit trailed Sachse, 2-0 in the sixth before junior Jalon Mack laced a two-run single to right center that tied the game. After four scoreless innings between both teams, a two-run single by senior Jack Lynch broke the tie before a squeeze bunt by senior Garrett Reuben turned into two more runs for the Blue and Gold. Senior Ben Shepherd earned the win on the mound after throwing 4.2 innings of no-hit work in relief of Lynch. Jesuit jumped on Sachse for six runs in the first inning of game three as a complete game, two-hit performance by sophomore Gavin Perryman helped Jesuit clinch the series. Senior Jaden Woodson led the Rangers with five hits in the series as Chavez racked up a team-leading 1.000 slugging percentage.

Rockwall Rebounds for Game Three Win: The Yellow Jackets earned a second-round tournament berth with a three-game series win over Copperas Cove in the bi-district round. Rockwall won game one, 8-7, on May 2 before Copperas Cove came storming back against the Yellow Jackets in game two en route to securing a 5-4 win over the Bulldawgs. However, Rockwall erupted for a 17-1 win in game three over Copperas Cove to move onto the next round.

Jesuit Heating Up in Late Spring: The Rangers enter Thursday's game with a 9-1 record over the last 10 games, a stint that has seen the Rangers outscore opponents, 68-14. Mack leads the Rangers with 12 hits over the last 10 games with 11 RBI, four doubles and six runs while junior Braxton Boyle has recorded 11 hits over the 10-game run. Lynch has a team-leading 13 RBI while adding 17.2 innings on the mound with 21 strikeouts. Junior Ryan Messick has a team-leading 25 strikeouts over 25.1 innings while securing a 3-1 record.

Looking Back…Jesuit and Rockwall met once this season, a 7-3 win for Jesuit in the Scotland Yard Classic on Mar. 08. Junior Jordan Lawlar launched a home run as Mack and Lynch drove in two runs apiece. Junior Alek Houillion went four strong innings with three runs on two hits and four strikeouts to earn his third consecutive win of the year before sophomore David Day took over in his varsity debut, throwing two innings of no-hit work, striking out three of his six batters faced. The two teams last met in the postseason during the 2014 season, when Rockwall ended Jesuit's season in a three-game series.
