Jesuit Dallas swept their way through the doubles and singles brackets at the 2021 Coppell Super Bowl Tournament, held on Feb. 27 at Coppell H.S. Coppell native and senior
Carl Wilson joined junior
Alex Park on the court to win the doubles championship with a magical run, carving their way through a tough gamut of competition to leave the event with the top prize. Sophomore
Bennett Barron added his first championship with a run of four victories at the event, sparking a February that saw Jesuit not only earn wins at the Coppell Tournament but also secure wins over John Paul II, Liberty Christian and Episcopal School of Dallas.

Wilson joined Park on the court of his hometown, competing in one of his final tournaments. The run began with a 4-0, 4-0 win over the team of LJ Almazan and Adam Cox from Whitehouse H.S. before defeating Frenship in a tiebreaker, 4-1, 2-4, 10-5, to advance to the semifinals against Coppell's team of Cason Cole and Atharva Nijasure.

In the semifinal, Coppell took a 5-3 first set lead, but Wilson and Park would not be denied, scoring a 4-1 win in the second set and outlasting the Cowboys in a 14-12 tiebreaker to advance to the finals. The finals saw the Rangers face off against Coppell's top team of Austin Gregory and Matthew Abbey. Wilson and Park won the first set in tiebreaker, 5-4 (7-5), but Coppell came back with a 4-2 win in the second set, setting up one final tiebreaker with the tournament championship on the line. Jesuit won the title with a 10-6 decision in the super tiebreaker, closing out a magical run for the Ranger duo.

Barron's tournament run began with a 4-0, 4-0 sweep of Tyler Legacy's Aiden Ebert. A 4-0, 5-4 (7-1) victory over Denison's Luke Sparlin sent Barron to the semifinals, where he defeated Reedy's Maximilian Henderson, 5-4 (7-5), 4-1 to advance to the final against Reedy's Cole Friscke. The sophomore clinched the title with a 5-3, 4-2 decision, securing his first singles title at Jesuit.

A strong spring continued as Jesuit Dallas competed against several local private schools, upending JP II, 11-4, on Feb. 9, earning a 7-2 win over Liberty Christian on Feb. 23 and a 5-1 win over ESD on Mar. 4.

Jonathan Ardoin started Jesuit's success with a 6-1, 6-0 win, fellow fourth year
Calum Taylor picked up a 7-6, 6-4 decision and senior
Ryan Lee earned a tiebreaker win, taking a 6-4 first set win and dropping the second set, 3-6 before storming back for a 10-7 win in the tiebreaker.

Liam Jones (6-0, 6-1). Jesuit won three of five doubles matches as Trigiani and Elizondo led the charge with a 6-1, 6-1 win at top-flight doubles.

The Rangers swept their way through doubles play against Liberty Christian, taking a dominating lead into singles. The team of juniors

Calum Taylor on the court for an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles and freshman
Mark Trottier teamed up with senior
Ryan Lee for an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles.

The success continued in singles play against the Warriors as Woodard picked up a victory at No. 1 singles, 8-4. Lorenzo and Taylor picked up decisive, 8-1 victories as Lee secured an 8-2 win to wrap up the Rangers' list of victories.

Against ESD, the Rangers continued their doubles success with a sweep against the Eagles. Wilson and senior
Jake Darlak swept ESD at No. 1 doubles with a 6-0, 6-0 decision, Lorenzo and senior
Diego Elizondo picked up a 6-0, 6-3 win, and the team of Woodard and junior
Joey Trigiani capped the sweep with a 6-0, 6-4 victory at No. 3 singles.

Alex Park won his second-flight singles match against Rider Yeanan in a tiebreaker set, picking up a 6-2, 6-8, 11-9 victory. Freshman
Zach Whittington secured Jesuit's fifth point of the event with a sweep of Will Grogan, earning a 6-0, 6-0 win to remain unbeaten on the season.
