Senior Tai Kryger scored a team-high 15 points, but a first quarter deficit proved too much to overcome as Jesuit dropped its season opener to Prosper Rock Hill, 74-51, on Friday at Lewisville H.S.

Kryger shot 5-of-9 from the field and 3-of-6 from three-point range, adding a team-high six rebounds. Sophomore Caleb Steger scored seven points in his varsity debut, while senior Dylan Gibbons tacked on six points, four rebounds and a team-high four assists. Senior Hampton Aldridge scored six points, seniors Michael Mathie and Charlie Needham each scored five points, junior Hank Gramlich debuted to the tune of four points while junior Justin Kemp tacked on three points in his first game on the varsity roster.

Jesuit shot 43.2 percent from the floor and matched Rock Hill's 25 rebounds, but the Hawks shot 59.3 on the night. The Rangers forced 10 turnovers, including a team-high two steals from Steger.

The Rangers will return to action on Saturday, when the Blue and Gold will battle Frisco Heritage. The game is set to take place at 1 p.m. at South Oak Cliff H.S.
