Jake Storey carried a perfect game into the fifth inning, and Jesuit Dallas scored at least one run in six of seven innings on Friday, advancing to the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Region I-6A area round with an 8-1 win over Arlington on the road Friday night. The Rangers will take on Coppell in the second round of the UIL 6A State Tournament in a series that will begin on Thursday, May 12.
Storey struck out 10 batters and retired the first 12 batters of the game, dominating en route to his seventh win of the season. The senior is 4-0 in his last four starts, has thrown three complete games over that stretch with a 0.95 ERA and 35 strikeouts. At the plate, Storey helped his own cause with an RBI double in the third for Jesuit's third run of the game.

The Rangers will now battle a Coppell team that ended the regular season ranked fourth in the state. The Cowboys advanced to the area round with a two-game sweep of McKinney Boyd, forging 3-2 victories in both games of the series. Game one will take place on Thursday in Coppell, Friday will see the action return to Wright Field before a potential game three is set for Saturday, May 14 in Carrollton, Texas.
