Jesuit Dallas shot 52 percent from the field in the first half of Friday's showdown against Richardson, but a hot-shooting Eagles squad upended the Rangers, 74-57, at Richardson H.S. The Rangers finish the first round of district play with a 5-3 record, and will begin the second half of District 7-6A action on Tuesday, Jan. 17 against J.J. Pearce.

Caleb Steger led the Rangers with 17 points, followed by 11 points from junior
Justin Kemp, 10 points from senior
Tai Kryger and eight points from junior
Hank Gramlich. Five points from senior
Charlie Needham, four points from junior
Will Bronson and two points from senior
Dylan Gibbons completed the scoring column. Steger also pulled down five rebounds to lead the team, while Bronson racked up three blocks on the night. Needham secured three assists, while Kryger, Gibbons, Kemp and Gramlich earned two assists apiece.
The Rangers and Mustangs will meet for the second time this season, as Jesuit will aim to complete a season sweep of Pearce following a 56-44 victory on Dec. 9. In that matchup, Steger secured 16 points to lead the team while Kryger tied a career-high with 12 rebounds. Tip-off on Tuesday is set for 7 p.m. at J.J. Pearce High School.
