Dominant Performance Lifts Jesuit to 2-0 Start

The Rangers moved to 2-0 on the year as a trio of double-digit performances vaulted Jesuit Dallas to a 72-42 win over Mesquite on Tuesday at Mesquite H.S.
 
Senior Will Bronson scored 19 points to lead the team, adding a team-high eight rebounds. Bronson shot 8-of-9 from the floor and tacked on his fourth block of the season. Junior Caleb Steger added 14 points, and senior Tre Mergerson scored 12 points in his first action of the 2023-24 campaign.
 
Jesuit Dallas finished the contest shooting 60.4 percent from the field, dominating inside the lanes to the tune of 48 points in the paint while adding 27 points off 18 Mesquite turnovers. The Rangers out-rebounded the Skeeters, 32-18, and held Mesquite to a 40.0 total shooting percentage alongside a 28.6 percent clip from three-point range. Senior Justin Kemp scored eight points, junior Michael Grant added five, senior Hank Gramlich and junior Ethan Mahowald scored four points apiece while senior Alec Piotrowski and junior Kevin Butera finished out the scoring column with three points each.
 
The Rangers will head to Walsh Gym for the 2023-24 home opener on Friday, Nov. 17, hosting McKinney North for a non-district bout at Walsh Gym. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday evening.
