Jesuit Dallas suffered its second loss of the season to a powerful, state-ranked Allen squad on Tuesday, dropping an 85-62 bout to the Eagles at Allen H.S.
 
Junior Michael Grant scored a team-high 22 points, senior Tre Mergerson added 12 points and senior Will Bronson scored 11 points to lead the team. Allen shot 54 percent from the floor and 44.1 percent from outside the arc, holding Jesuit to an 18.5 percent clip from three-point range. Grant, senior Hank Gramlich and junior Charlie Peters led the team with two assists apiece while senior Justin Kemp led the team with two steals.
 
Jesuit and Allen scored 38 points apiece in the paint, and Jesuit added 18 points off 17 Allen turnovers, but the hot-shooting Eagles proved too much to overcome as the Rangers were out-shot, 57.1 to 38.2 percent, by Allen in the second half.
 
The Rangers will open district play on Friday, as Jesuit travels to Richardson to battle J.J. Pearce. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. on Tuesday as the Rangers and Mustangs renew their rivalry in a highly anticipated district showdown. Read Full Article
