The Jesuit Dallas defense held one of the top-scoring offenses in the Metroplex to a 3-of-17 clip from three-point range in the first half, and went into the second half tied, 14-14 with No. 5-ranked Arlington Martin. The Warriors used a 20-7 run that begin in the waning moments of the second quarter and lasted until the midway point of the third to take a commanding lead, and held off a fourth quarter Ranger surge to secure a 68-53 win over Jesuit on Tuesday in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Region I-6A Bi-District Round at Flower Mound High School.

Caleb Steger scored 24 points for Jesuit, shooting 9-of-16 from the floor and hitting four three-pointers. Junior
Will Bronson added 10 points on a 5-for-8 night from the field that complimented a six-rebound performance, while senior
Dylan Gibbons racked up a team-high six assists with two steals, four rebounds and two points. Junior
Hank Gramlich led the team with three steals, adding four rebounds and an assist while junior
Justin Kemp secured three assists and five points. Senior
Owen Berry hit a pair of three-pointers to close out the bout with six points as two points by senior
Michael Mathie and a converted free throw by senior
Tai Kryger completed the Jesuit Dallas scoring.
The Rangers began the first quarter shooting 46.2 percent from the floor, running with the Warriors during a frantic opening stanza that mostly went uninterrupted by stoppage of play. With the game tied, 14-14 heading into the second, the Rangers continued to claw their way at the Warrior defense and rebounding contingent, and went into the last moments of the half tied with Martin, 21-21. However, Martin went 5-for-5 over the final 1:45 of the second and took a seven-point lead into the break after Gramlich buried a half-court three-pointer at the second quarter buzzer.
Berry hit a three on Jesuit's first possession of the quarter, but it was one of only two made field goals as Martin grew a 19-point lead with an 18-3 run to end the third quarter.Trailing by 20 with 4:30 left, Jesuit started to work their way within striking range with a 9-2 run, but Martin was able to hold the Rangers off with a 12-7 run that spotted the District 8-6A co-champions an 18-point lead with under a minute remaining.
Jesuit Dallas ends the 2022-23 season with a 19-13 record and secured a playoff berth for the 15th time in the last 16 seasons.
