Hugh Rudnicki fired home a sensational volley from fellow fourth year
Charlie Bramlett, notching the deciding goal for Jesuit in a 2-1 win over Richardson on Saturday at Ranger Stadium. The win marked the team's second victory in less than 24 hours, as the Rangers upended Nimitz, 2-0, on Friday night before the Saturday matinee that was rescheduled due to this week's winter storm.
The Rangers trailed Richardson in the first half after a goal by the Eagles in the 11th minute. Senior
Erwin Ordaz started the rally for Jesuit with a goal in the 52nd minute, sending a strong corner kick that landed in the box just shy of the near post. A Richardson defender attempted to clear the ball, only for Ordaz's corner to find the back of the net off of the Richardson own goal.Â
Rudnicki's goal came in the 69th minute, when Bramlett took the ball down the far sideline and saw Rudnicki inside the box. A low line drive by the Sewanee: University of the South signee found the waiting foot of Rudnicki, who was able to put the one-timer past the Richardson goalkeeper for the go-ahead goal.
