Jesuit Begins Tournament of Champions Run With Win Over Frisco

Jesuit Dallas secured a dominant, 7-0 win over Frisco on Thursday to begin the 2023 Frisco ISD Tournament of Champions. The Rangers' 2:40 p.m. game against College Park was canceled due to weather and the Rangers are set to return to action on Friday against Memorial (12:20 p.m.) and Plano West (5 p.m.).

Junior Joe Allen pieced together a stellar performance on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings pitched. The junior secured his first win and first shutout of the season by hurling a two-hitter. At the plate, junior Cameron Davis drove in two runs from the lead-off spot, while senior Jonah Timmons, junior Tristen Bird, sophomore Jake Fults and freshman Taylor Haddock each drove in one run apiece. Davis, Fults and Haddock each secured doubles while seniors Dominic Migliore and Weston Okamoto.

Jesuit will continue tournament play on Friday, with the Rangers' 12:20 p.m. game taking place at Reedy H.S. before the Blue and Gold head to Rider Field for a 5 p.m. showdown against former district opponent Plano West.
