Jesuit Dallas Wraps Collin County Invitational

Jesuit Dallas baseball dropped a pair of games to conclude the 2023 Collin County Invitational on Saturday, March 4 at Wright Field. The Rangers saw an early lead fall to Celina, 4-3, in the nightcap after a 9-0 setback to Sachse earlier in the day.

Senior Dominic Migliore scattered a pair of hits for Jesuit against Celina, driving in a run for the Blue and Gold during a three-run second inning. Migliore's single through the right side plated senior Jonah Timmons to spot the Rangers an early, 1-0 lead before seniors Weston Okamoto and Nick Barber forced bases loaded walks to score freshman Taylor Haddock and junior Tristen Bird. Senior Jack Barr struck out six batters in his season debut, throwing five innings before senior Preston Payne took over in the sixth, fanning three batters and allowing no runs on two hits over two innings of work.

The Jesuit bats were held silent against Sachse as the Rangers were held to three hits against the Mustangs. Sophomore Jake Fults recorded a hit and was hit by a pitch to reach base while Bird and Migliore also recorded hits. Junior starter Will Whitehead struck out three batters, sophomore Patrick Brady struck out five over 2.1 innings and senior Will Greenwood finished the game, striking out four batters over two innings.

Jesuit will now turn its attention to the 2023 Frisco Tournament of Champions, a six-game tournament set to start on Thursday, March 9 with a double-header at Frisco High School. The Rangers will start the double-header at 12 p.m against Frisco before battling College Park at 2:40 p.m.
