Another masterful start for senior
Luke Isett set the table for a 7-3 victory over Richardson on Friday night at Wright Field. The Rangers battled through the elements, winning a contest that was delayed twice due to lightning strikes in the area. Jesuit finishes the district season with a 14-2 record, and will meet Pearce in a district seeding tiebreaker on Saturday after Pearce defeated Highland Park, 7-4, to clinch a share of the district championship.
Isett struck out 11 batters over six innings, allowing only two hits and earning his eighth win of the season. The senior Navarro College commit ends the regular season with an 8-0 record and a dominant, 0.56 earned run average against district opponents.
At the plate, senior
Nick Barber recorded a key hit in a seven-run second inning, flaring a double that drove home fellow fourth years
Jack Strong and
Weston Okamoto. Earlier in the inning, freshman
Braxton Barber laced a single to center to score senior
Dominic Migliore, while a RBI single from sophomore
Jake Fults and sacrifice fly by senior
Jonah Timmons plated Jesuit's sixth and seventh runs of the inning, respectively.Â
Jesuit will return to action on Saturday afternoon, when the Rangers will compete against Pearce at 12 p.m. The contest will take place at Scotland Yard on the campus of Highland Park H.S.
