The Rangers began the third round of the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Region I-6A Tournament with a 3-2 win over Denton Guyer on May 18 in Denton, Texas.

Luke Isett secured his eleventh win of the season, throwing a complete game and striking out four while allowing two runs on six hits. Jesuit started the contest with a run in the first inning as senior
Nick Barber plated junior
Cameron Davis with one out in the inning. Sophomore
James Jorgensen increased the lead to two runs in the third with a single up the middle to plate Barber, but Guyer responded with a pair of runs to tie the contest, 2-2 in the sixth.

Jake Fults logged the game-winning hit in the seventh, launching a single to score Davis and give the Rangers a one-run advantage. Guyer threatened in the bottom of the inning, fighting for the game-tying run by putting the game-winning run aboard with one out, but Isett forced a ground out and fly out to clinch the win for the Rangers.

The series is scheduled to continue on Friday night at Jesuit Dallas. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Wright Field.
