Jesuit Falls to Highland Park at Walsh Gym

Following a weather postponement on Tuesday, Jesuit Dallas erupted for 25 points in the second quarter, using the advantage to dispatch MacArthur, 70-52, on Wednesday night at Walsh Gym.
 
Four Rangers reached double digits, led by junior Michael Grant, who went 7-of-13 from the field to close out the contest with 15 points, adding a team-leading eight rebounds alongside three assists and three steals. Senior Tre Mergerson and junior Caleb Steger scored 14 points apiece as senior Hank Gramlich added 13 points to the team's effort. The scoring was completed by seven points from junior Kevin Butera, three points from senior Justin Kemp and two points from junior Charlie Peters and senior Alec Piotrowski.
 
Jesuit out-rebounded Irving, 33-20, scoring 28 points off of 17 MacArthur turnovers and tacking on 44 points in the paint. The Rangers secured an additional 21 second chance points off of 18 offensive rebounds.
 
The Rangers will conclude its five-game home stand on Friday, Jan. 19 against Irving. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. as the Rangers look to secure a season sweep of the Tigers.
