Rangers Edge McKinney to Earn Meintser Title Game Berth

The Rangers advanced to the championship game of the 2024 Jesuit-Meintser Soccer Invitational on Friday, capturing a 1-0 win over McKinney at Ranger Stadium.

Jesuit junior Clyde Araiza scored his first goal of the season, finding the back of the net in the 40th minute off of an assist by senior Jacob Ogbolu. The Rangers out-shot McKinney, 13-2, yielded only two corner kicks to the Lions and did not allow a shot on goal. Seniors Reid McMillan and Matteo once again split time in goal, as the Ranger goalkeepers combined for the shutout.

The Rangers will face off with Plano for the tournament championship on Saturday. Jesuit will enter the title match as the three-time defending champions of the Jesuit-Meintser Soccer Invitational, and Plano began the tournament with a 4-0 win over Bishop Lynch in the first round before earning a 1-0 win over Rowlett in the championship semifinal. Kick-off of the tournament championship is scheduled for 4 p.m.
